#TalkChildcare Campaign

In August 2016 we launched the #TalkChildcare campaign in order to talk to parents and providers about the new childcare offer for Wales.

The campaign aimed to understand the current barriers you, as parents and guardians, face in accessing childcare, what’s important to you about the new offer and to ensure that providers are aware of the offer and have the opportunity to raise any questions.

Who took part?

Between August 2016 and April 2017 we:

  • hosted an online survey asking you what’s important about choosing childcare for all ages, what would allow you to access it more easily, whether you access existing early education entitlement and what’s important to you about the new offer
  • held a #TalkChildcare Roadshow which visited 15 towns in Wales and a number of childcare settings
  • commissioned a set of in-depth focus groups
  • spoke to childcare providers through a series of regional events, focus groups and webinars.
