International Learning Opportunities

Group of people

Gives Welsh public and third sector workers the opportunity to work in sub-Saharan Africa on development projects and enhance their leadership skills.

Since 2007 the International Learning Opportunities programme has delivered over 130 projects in sub-Saharan African countries, such as Uganda, Lesotho, Zambia and Cameroon. These assignments offer Welsh managers and leaders the opportunity to develop their skills and experience whilst contributing to the UN Sustainable Development Goals to eliminate poverty. Since 2013 the programme has focused on sending participants to Uganda and Lesotho, adding value to and enhancing the sustainability of existing Wales for Africa links.
