Gwent Police have championed a project to establish whether there is a better way of responding to children and young people who repeatedly go missing.

They have done this working closely with other public services, voluntary and charity agencies in Gwent.

In response to the findings a multi-agency safeguarding hub is being established, serving the geographical area of Gwent and covering all five local authorities.  An evaluation will be undertaken to inform decisions on whether the approach should be adopted in other parts of Wales and for other vulnerable groups.
