Rhyl Flats Offshore Wind farm community fund open to applicants within Conwy.

Between, April 2010 to March 2014, the North Wales Coast Regeneration Area Community Fund supported local organisations with grants worth a total of £727,508. A separate, Innogy Renewables UK Limited community fund supported grants worth a total of £306,068 during this time. Although the North Wales Regeneration Area Community Fund has now closed, the Rhyl Flats community fund is still open to applicants seeking funding support within Conwy.

Operated by Innogy Renewables UK Limited the Rhyl Flats offshore Windfarm has made funding available for community projects across parts of the North Wales coastline since 2010. The fund targets community groups within the Conwy coastal area and has a base level of £75,000 which is index linked each year in line with inflation. The fund supports communities from Mochdre in the west through to Kinmel Bay in the east. In Conwy the fund is administered by Welsh Government on behalf of Innogy Renewables UK Limited.

Funding projects

Up to 78 projects have been supported by the Innogy Renewables UK Limited Rhyl Flats Offshore Windfarm Community Fund, including capital build projects, projects supporting the creation of jobs and training opportunities, projects providing advice and support to vulnerable communities and projects which have provided dedicated community facilities across Conwy.

The fund aims to assist local groups in establishing community projects which seek to support community cohesion, improve the viability of facilities, contribute to a well balanced, permanent and self assured community and demonstrate community involvement. Applications are assessed quarterly and are welcomed from community groups for between £2,000 and £10,000 (Inclusive of VAT).
