The Barry Regeneration Area was a £9.8 million programme of Welsh Government investment which ran from April 2010 up until March 2014.

The Barry Regeneration Partnership Board was established to recommend which projects were to be progressed. Following consultation with stakeholders, the following themes and priorities were agreed:

  • supporting the development of Barry as an attractive place to live
  • supporting the development of Barry Island as a destination for activity-based day trips
  • supporting skills and employment in the Barry Regeneration Area.

Our new regeneration framework Vibrant and Viable Places is now in operation.
