We review the 30 year forecasts to consider the financial viability of housing associations (HAs) in the medium and long term.

These forecasts are submitted to us by 31st July each year. This paper reports on the main findings of the financial viability review on the 30 year financial forecasts.

For a HA to be financially viable they must be able to meet their current and future commitments.

These commitments include that they:

  • can maintain their housing stock
  • continue to develop as per their agreed development plan
  • meet their ongoing liabilities - including interest payments on loans and loan repayments.
