This guidance is intended to help local authorities and housing associations implement the National Tenant Participation Strategy for Wales.

All social landlord services should promote tenant involvement. Social landlords are expected to do this strategically and should produce local tenant participation strategies.  In developing these strategies, landlords and tenants are expected to consider the National Strategy.

Further to a recent research report entitled Support for Tenant Partipation 2014, Welsh Government will no longer assess social landlords’ local tenant participation strategies. Social landlords are still encouraged to prepare tenant participation strategies if they find it helpful and guidance is available here. However, it is no longer necessary for these to be submitted or assessed by Welsh Government. If you have any queries please contact Welsh Government Housing Policy.
