Jean White, Chief Nursing Officer

Supporting the Welsh Government with professional nursing and midwifery advice.  

Professor Jean White is the head of the nursing and midwifery professions in Wales. She is the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and Nurse Director of NHS Wales. She provides expert advice to the Welsh Government, the NHS in Wales and stakeholders.

Jean is supported by a team of nursing officers each leading discrete policy areas, providing a professional voice for Welsh nursing and midwifery across the UK and internationally.

The CNO supports international work through the World Health Organization European Region.
