The Welsh Government Rural Communities – Rural Development Programme 2014–2020 delivers the second Pillar of the Common Agriculture Policy in Wales.

It represents a major seven year investment in rural Wales by Welsh Government and the European Union.  It is designed around the three EU RDP priorities of: fostering the competiveness of agriculture; ensuring the sustainable management of natural resources and climate action and achieving a balanced territorial development of rural economies and communities, including the creation and maintenance of employment.

Role of the Steering Group: To direct activities, identify priorities and to advise / assist developing a work-plan for the Wales Rural Network

The steering group comprised of 12 members was drawn from the full range of rural development interests, to direct activities, identify priorities and develop a work-plan for the Wales Rural Network:
