Evaluation Guidance

Evaluation is a key part of the 2014-2020 Rural Development Programme. It helps assess the effectiveness of the programme and identify areas where improvements can be made. Evaluation supports the successful management and delivery of the programme and will help inform future rural and agricultural policy in Wales.

The evaluation of the Rural Development Programme is managed by a team of researchers within the Strategy Team in WEFO.  The Strategy team plans and manages all programme and scheme level evaluations within the RDP and can provide advice on monitoring and evaluation to Local Action Groups and individual projects/schemes.   

A range of guidance is available to help you develop and deliver your projects in line with the requirements of the programme. They include reports from previous evaluations such as the Ex-post Evaluation of 2007-13 RDP National Report.  Also guidance on monitoring and evaluation activities aimed at Local Action Groups - Evaluation Guidance for LEADER LAG’s and Supply Chain Development Scheme projects – Evaluation guidance for the Co-operation and Supply Chain development.

The team also provides training on monitoring and evaluation and will be running events in 2018.
