Youth Work Week – 23 to 30 June

The Welsh Government is seeking views on new proposals to support the development of a new National Youth Work Strategy.
An annual event that provides youth workers and young people with the opportunity to celebrate the achievements and impacts of youth work. The Youth Work Excellence Awards Evening in Cardiff on the 23 June will launch the week.

The week aims to:

  • promote a wider understanding and support for youth work
  • gain media coverage
  • promote positive images of young people
  • promote the benefits of youth work
  • celebrate the contribution of youth work with young people.

Numerous events and activities will take place across Wales with many stories and photos being shared via Twitter. Last year, some of these were collated into a Storify (external link).

A national event will be held on 27 June at The Senedd, Cardiff Bay to showcase youth work in Wales. Assembly Members and national and regional decision makers will be invited to the event.
