We regularly publish reports giving a picture of our schools and monitoring progress in educational outcomes of learners in Wales.

We report against a set of consistent indicators so we can target support more effectively, measure the performance of our schools and work towards improving the outcomes for our learners. Throughout the year we publish this information in national statistics releases at a national and regional level, in reports for individual schools and on the public websites Stats Wales (external link) and My Local School (external link).

We provide schools and local authorities with data sets for use in their self evaluation. Schools are expected to operate within a culture of continual review and improvement, and self evaluation is an essential part of this process. Schools are required to set targets, reflecting priorities identified through the self evaluation process.

Schools are then required to publish their performance and progress information in specified reports.
