Review of the operation of the Further and Higher Education (Governance and Information) (Wales) Act 2014.

The Act freed colleges from central government control, and reinforced the important role of college governors in setting the strategic direction of their institutions. The changes afforded greater autonomy to colleges – reducing restrictions on governing bodies, while strengthening their accountability to the students, employers and wider communities they serve.

The Act placed a duty on the Welsh Ministers to conduct a review of its impact with a particular focus on certain provisions detailed in the narrative by July 31, 2016.
