Welsh-medium and bilingual opportunities are available for all learners aged 16 and above.

More choice for their future.

Further education

ColegauCymru is working with all further education colleges to increase the volume and range of Welsh-medium and bilingual learning opportunities. We are supporting further education colleges to increase Welsh-medium and bilingual provision by funding the Bilingual Champions project. In addition, we back the work of Sgiliaith, a specialist centre which supports the development of Welsh-medium and bilingual education in further education colleges.

Higher education

It is important that pathways are planned for Welsh-medium progression onto and within higher education, both in academic subject areas and in priority vocational areas. The Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol aims to ensure an increase in the availability of Welsh-medium provision in our universities.  For further information visit the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol website.

Work-based learning

There are a number of programmes which support young people and adults to develop skills to enter the workforce or while in employment. We are supporting providers to enhance their Welsh-medium or bilingual provision, particularly in priority areas, so that all learners have opportunities to continue to develop their Welsh-lanuguage skills if they wish to do so. Visit the Careers Wales website to find out more.
