Vocational Qualifications Day and Awards

A national celebration of the impact that vocational qualifications (VQs) have on learners and employers.

VQ Day is an annual event to raise the status of technical, practical and vocational learning through celebrating high quality vocational achievement. It provides opportunities to showcase the value of vocational qualifications to individuals and employers as well as to the wider society and economy.

The VQ Awards

The awards take place on:

  • 07 June 2016 VQ Awards Ceremony, St David’s Hotel & Spa, Cardiff Bay
  • 08 June 2016 VQ Day – an opportunity for the media, employers and learning providers to showcase the value of high quality vocational
    qualifications.

At Wales’ ninth annual VQ Awards Ceremony, winners will be announced in each of the following two categories:

The VQ Learner of the Year

This award recognises individuals (intermediate and advanced) who have completed a vocational qualification within the last eight years, and who demonstrate progression and excellence in vocational learning, resulting in considerable achievement in their field.

The Employer of the Year

This award recognises employers who promote the value of vocational qualifications in the workplace, and make a real contribution to improving their skills and national competitiveness.
