Spotlight on museums

Spotlight on Museums is a comprehensive survey of Wales’ museums.

The survey asks a range of questions covering audiences, educational engagement, financial operations, workforce and volunteers. It includes a number of range statements that explore current museum practice.

The information gathered through the survey:

  • helps promote the social and economic impact of museums in Wales
  • informs national strategy
  • allows museums to benchmark their performance.

Spotlite 2016

This year we are running a simplified 'Spotlite' survey (eternal link) to provide an up-to-date picture of the museum sector in Wales. The data gathered through the survey will be used to inform our next strategy.

The questions cover
  • visitor numbers and engagement
  • museum finances
  • volunteers and staff
  • education work.
The deadline for completing the survey is Friday 6 January 2017.
