The Community Radio Fund was set up to recognise the contribution that community radio stations made to communities.

What  the fund was for

The fund was created to help run community radio stations which were granted a five-year broadcast licence by the Office of Communications in the UK (Ofcom) (external link).

Application for funding

Five rounds of funding were allocated from 2008 and  we extended it for a further one year period. Nine community radio stations were awarded grants in 2013-14. Grants were awarded on a competitive basis. The minimum grant that could be applied for was £5,000 but there was no upper limit.
