Information and Communication Technology sector panel

The sector panel was established in March 2011. It consists of 5 business people with expertise and established reputation in the ICT sector.

The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector panel provides advice to ministers and officials on the sector’s opportunities and needs in order to help develop and put policies into practice.

Panel Members

  • Tom Kelly

    Tom is Chairman of several high technology, innovative and growing companies. These include; Ospero which is involved in Cloud orchestration, Governance, Automation and security in the Cloud environment; and Agilitas Holdings who are experts in inventory management solutions to the ICT environment. Additionally, he is a strategic advisor to a number of ICT businesses.

    Previously, he was Managing Director of Logicalis UK between 2004 and 2013, and following the successful merger of its computing and networking divisions in 2006, he evolved the business to become a leading UK systems integrator and managed service provider.

  • Dr Mark Bentall

    Dr Mark Bentall is the Head of Engineering Governance and Compliance, Airbus Defence and Space. His key responsibilities include technical assessment of all major product designs and engineering plans, integration of innovative technologies, utilisation of open source software, appropriate implementation of security with the product lines and ensuring design compliance with environmental regulations. Mark is based in Newport, South Wales but operates across Europe, Middle East, US and Asia. He is a member of the EADS Foundation Wales Executive Committee responsible for research partnerships between academia, Airbus Group and the Welsh Government.

  • David Jones

    David set up his own software company, Travelink Systems Ltd, which grew to be one of the biggest names in its field in the UK. He also holds directorships in a number of other successful Welsh ICT businesses: TigerBay Software Ltd and Westgate Cyber Security Ltd. David’s current activities include cyber security and mentoring software entrepreneurs.

  • Martyn Lambert

    Martyn is the founder of Loddon Hill, a private consulting company that covers UK and USA markets, specialising in high technology. He has served the high technology sector in various senior executive capacities in both the UK and the USA. In addition, he is a co-founder and Chair of the Board of Brocklebank Penn, a specialist sales and marketing company servicing the high technology industry across software, services and cloud technologies.

  • Avril Lewis

    Avril Lewis is a co-opted member of the panel

    Avril is the Managing Director of ESTnet, founded in 2011, the network for the electronic and software technologies industry in Wales provides a collaborative environment and voice for people and organisations working within the ICT industry. Her background is in the semiconductor industry, as Director of Human Resources for European Semiconductor Manufacturing Ltd, formerly NWL, where she was a member of the management buy-out team, and prior to that, Inmos in Newport.
