The panel provides advice to ministers on the opportunities and needs of the sector to help develop and implement policies.

  • Chris Nott OBE (Chair)

    Chris Nott is the founder and Managing Partner of Capital Law, one of Wales’s leading law firms. Chris was appointed to chair the Financial and Professional Services Sector Panel in 2011. He was the founder and Chair of Knife and Fork Ltd and is a Director of Cardiff Blues Rugby Football Club.

  • Mervyn Davies, Lord Davies of Abersoch

    Lord Davies is a Partner and Vice Chairman of Corsair Capital, a private equity firm specialising in financial services. He was Minister for Trade, Investment, Small Business and Infrastructure from January 2009 until May 2010. Prior to that, he was Chairman and previously CEO, and served on the Board of Standard Chartered for over 12 years.

  • Kevin Gardiner

    Kevin Gardiner is Managing Director and Head of Investment Strategy at Rothschild, one of the world’s largest independent financial advisory groups. Previously he was Chief Investment Officer (Europe) and a Managing Director at Barclays Wealth and Investment Management.

  • Trudy Norris-Grey

    Trudy Norris-Grey is General Manager, Central and Eastern Europe for Microsoft. Trudy is also the Chair of the UK Resource Centre for Women in Science, Engineering & Technology (UKRC & WISE), whose aim is enhance the UK's GDP by further engaging women in this arena.

  • Richard Jones

    Richard Jones is the Chairman of Proxima Group Ltd, which is the UK’s premier Procurement Services Consulting and Outsourcing Firm. He has successfully operated in both corporate management and private partnership structures. He is an executive with 40 years global experience ranging from start ups to the world's largest Corporations.

  • Sally Jones-Evans

    Sally Jones-Evans is a Non Executive Director (NED) at the Principality Building Society. Sally has worked in banking and insurance for 30 years and was Chief Operating Officer of Group HR at Lloyds Banking Group. Sally is a NED of Welsh Athletics where she is Board lead for Equality and Diversity, and is a former NED of the UK Contact Centres Association, a former Chair of the Breakthrough Women’s Network, and has served on several charity boards.

  • Huw Morgan

    Huw currently runs his own consultancy business and a non-executive director of GoCompare. He was previously Head of Business Banking at HSBC. Huw is a Non-Executive Director at Finance Wales plc and ICICI Bank UK plc.

  • Rhian Bliss

    Rhian Bliss is Head of Internal Audit: Risk, Finance and Compliance at Barclays. Prior to her taking up this role in 2013 she held a number of senior positions at Barclays, was a Managing Director at Banque AIG (the European arm of AIG Financial Products) and was Senior Associate at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.
