In April 2013, the Minister for Economy, Science and Transport launched a consultation on the Business Rates Task and Finish Group's Review into Business Rates Relief for Charities and Social Enterprises.

The consultation closed on 28 June 2013. Over 70 responses were received from a range of stakeholders.

A summary of responses has been produced. This consultation summary is intended to provide an overview of the issues raised and facilitate understanding of the range of points made.  It is not intended to capture every viewpoint in detail in this summary.

The analysis of the consultation will be based on a consideration of the full responses to the consultation, all of which have been published online.

A further announcement regarding next steps will made in the Autumn.

Task and Finish Group Membership

The Task and Finish Group which compiled the original report is made up of representatives covering a wide variety of business and public sector backgrounds.
