Our ambition is for Wales to be at the forefront of the transition to a low carbon economy, securing sustainable economic growth and prosperity for all.

We hosted the forum in collaboration with the Climate Group (external link).

This day provided opportunities for states and regions to come together with global business leaders to focus on how we can work together to accelerate green growth, deliver the intent of the Paris agreement and unlock the trillions of dollars of investment needed to support a thriving low carbon economy.

We wanted the forum to be a meeting point for policy and business leaders to exchange experiences and identify best practices that respond to their specific country circumstances.

Information

The historic agreement on climate change at the UN’s Conference of Parties in Paris marks a clear turning point towards a sustainable and low carbon future.

We are proud that we are one of the first nations in the world to legislate for sustainable development goals and place them at the heart of government and we have endorsed the UN Sustainable Development Goals in our Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act.

The Act, which became law earlier this year, is evidence of our commitment to securing a new economic model for Wales.
