National Learner Satisfaction Survey for Wales

An important part of fulfilling our responsibilities to learners includes understanding learner needs and experiences, and using and sharing this knowledge to continually improve the range and quality of provision.

Therefore, a survey of post-16 learners' satisfaction with their learning experiences was commissioned.

The survey took place between July and August 2003, and involved over 6,200 learners from further education; work-based learning and accredited.

A series of workshops were held with providers to disseminate the survey findings with the purpose of using the findings to help drive up quality standards in their own provision. A separate report was produced, highlighting best practice in a range of areas, including marketing, learner support and management of learning.

These fact sheets provide a quick reference to satisfaction and quality ratings for different types of learner.

Each fact sheet provides headline information on:

  • overall satisfaction with learning experience
  • satisfaction with teaching/training
  • expectations of learning
  • pre entry
  • problems experienced.
