This report looks to measure public awareness and opinions of their Community of Town Council. Specifically, the research looks to:

  • determine awareness of the existence and responsibilities of a Community or Town Council
  • measure engagement with the Council through the proportion of citizens who have made contact with the council
  • assess satisfaction with the work of the council.

Evidence review

The purpose of this review is to synthesise existing evidence on community and town councils in Wales, with the aim of developing an up-to-date and comprehensive understanding of the sector. The review is intended to inform future policy development on community and town councils as well as the work of the Commission on Public Service Governance and Delivery.
