Destination of leavers from higher education in the United Kingdom

An annual report, produced by the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA), which presents data by activity and location for degree leavers.
The Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education (DLHE) survey asks leavers from higher education what they are doing six months after graduation. About four in five leavers complete the survey.

Key points

  • There were 20,285 leavers from Welsh universities whose destinations were known, of which 73 per cent were primarily in work or about to start work on the census date.
  • There were 17,670 Welsh domiciled leavers whose destinations were known, of which 77 per cent were primarily in work or about to start work on the census date.
  • Medicine & Dentistry had the lowest unemployment rate (0.6 per cent) of any subject at Welsh universities.
  • Mathematics had the highest unemployment rate (6.3 per cent) of any subject at Welsh universities.
