Around £40m available for research and innovation proposals

Around £40m of EU funds are available in a call for innovative proposals that can successfully translate research and innovation into new and improved commercial products, processes and services.
Thursday 20 October 2016

Project proposals should build on areas where Welsh businesses and research organisations have already established, or are beginning to establish, internationally significant expertise, with a strong industrial pull.

Proposals will also need to focus on the delivery of key outcomes such as increasing employment and delivering new products, and clearly add value to existing public and private sector activity.

Around £30m is available in the West Wales and Valleys region, and up to £10m in East Wales.

The deadline to submit a proposal is 31 January 2017. If prioritised, proposals will then progress to the formal business planning stage.

There is no restriction on the type of organisation (private, public or third sector) that can apply for this funding and organisations new to EU Structural Funds are welcomed.
