The Independent Remuneration Panel for Wales (IRPW) is responsible for determining the allowances payable to elected members of principal councils, national park authorities, fire and rescue authorities, and community and town councils in Wales.

The Panel was established in 2008 and is independent of central and local government. We have powers to make recommendations on proposed variations to the remuneration of chief executives and chief officers of principal councils in Wales. 

We also consult upon and produce an Annual Report which contains all of our determinations.

Financial Year 2018/19 - Final Annual Report  

Sets the range and maximum level of allowances payable for the financial year 2018/19.
