We are consulting on the Code of Practice for Landlords and Agents in relation to the provisions introduced in Part 1 of the Housing (Wales) Act 2014.
We are consulting on the Regulation of Private Housing (Information, Periods and Fees for Registration and Licensing) (Wales) Regulations 2015.
The purpose of this consultation is to seek views on the intention to appoint a single licensing authority for Wales, and for the authority to be Cardiff Council.
Lesley Griffiths AM, Minister for Communities and Tackling Poverty

Today I am publishing the summary of responses to consultations on four major parts of the implementation of Part 1 of the Housing (Wales) Act 2014 covered by the following consultations:

Consultation on a Private Rented Sector Code of Practice for Landlords and Agents;
Consultation on the Regulation of Private Housing (Information, Periods and Fees for Registration and Licensing) (Wales) Regulations 2015 and;
Designation of a Licensing Authority under Part 1 of the Housing (Wales) Act.

The findings from these consultations have informed our thinking in terms of the implementation of Part 1 of the Housing (Wales) Act 2014.  Today, I am launching the Rent Smart Wales brand, under which these provisions will be implemented.  Rent Smart Wales will formally launch in autumn, 2015.
